Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer

Kidney stone disease is a common, painful condition that consumes vast amounts of healthcare resources each year. Our team is led by executives and investors with a proven track record of commercializing paradigm-shifting devices to meet unmet needs within urology.


Are you ready to change the future of kidney stone treatment? We are seeking high achievers who want to be part of a dynamic team working in a fun, diverse atmosphere.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Quickly conceptualize, design, and build the next generation product
  • Excel at designing parts and mechanisms for injection molding
  • Generate test plans and produce data in an organized manner
  • Conduct tests and write protocols and reports
  • Use analytical skills to run engineering calculations, FEA, cost analyses, tolerance analyses
  • Design for manufacturing: Take the concept and apply best practices to make the device ready for mass production.
  • Develop a product optimized for reliability, scalability, and low cost of goods
  • Utilize your CAD proficiency (preferably Solidworks)
  • Ensure projects follow design control processes
  • Effectively communicate project status, schedule baselines, schedule issues, project risks, and major engineering decisions across all company disciplines.


  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering disciplined required
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a research and development role. Medical device experience preferred
  • Experience with electromechanical integration preferred
  • Independently motivated, detail oriented and good problem solving ability
  • Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
  • Strong communication skills and proven team player
  • Small company experience preferred
  • Work location: In-person at Pleasanton, CA office
  • Travel: Up to 10%
  • Compliance with relevant county, state, and Federal rules regarding vaccinations.
